Project Summary

This explainer video for the CROWDBOT Project aimed to introduce the concept of a “Crowd-Bot” and outline the key technologies and requirements a robot must meet to safely and effectively navigate crowded spaces. The video explained the essentials of a Crowd-Bot, including its abilities to move within crowds, sense and map crowded environments, localize itself, predict crowd movements, navigate safely, and exhibit ethical behavior to avoid harm.

The creative process involved detailed sketches and multiple script revisions to ensure clarity and accuracy. To illustrate the crowded dynamics essential to the Crowd-Bot’s functions, I opted to place the robot within a bustling airport environment, capturing the complexity and diversity of real-world crowd interactions. Delivered with subtitles in English, French, and German, the video fulfilled the client’s request for a voiceover-free format, making it accessible and engaging for a multilingual audience.
